I'm really excited about working with Tash Hopkins next week on an outdoor shoot that evokes our early settle immigrant history and local written work from the likes of Katherine Mansfield. Here is our mood board, results as they become available!

Editorial: Lest We Forget

I am continuing to write a weekly column for Naturally Spirited and this week I wrote one about the relative cons of biopics: how the choice of actor, their performance and resulting oscar buzz often overshadow the story of the person the biopic is actually about. The examples I used were Michelle Williams turn in the forthcoming Marilyn Monroe film and how her every move is being noted at the moment - down to the platinum blonde tips of her hair - and the appalling decision to award Penn Bagdley the role of Jeff Buckley, and that I will not be able to take this film seriously regardless of how good his performance is. Shoot: Still // Life

A few months ago we shot 'Turning Japanese', a shoot for Good as Gold with model Rosie Herdman. We felt because we ignored the selection of dudes clothes at that time it was only fair that we do a shoot with them next, and this is the result. Thanks to photographer Sara Orme, model Fergus at Red 11 and hair and make-up artist Phoebe Leonard.

Shoot: Be My Man

Woah I have been so busy! In between a nightly two-hour radio show, UnderTheRadar - and the line-up announcements of all the festivals we are involved in - and doing the occasional shoot and filing the occasional deadline I have really let this blog fall by the wayside. Alas, radio show is finished and I am feeling slightly more on top of the myriad projects I am involved in. Sara Orme and I are constantly shooting, and this is one of those that I am most proud of. We shot this gender identity shoot at the same time we shot the last one, and Sara has captured the nuances of the light and their personalities exceptionally.
